Peckham Helpcentre Repairs Appeal
A time to give … and a time to receive
Yes, very soon it will be Christmas … that time of year when the fortunate among us will be giving and
receiving presents, enjoying great food, and fun with family and friends.
Sadly, others approach Christmas with dread. I’m thinking of lonely seniors; those who are in hospital or homeless; and drunks, addicts and no-hopers. But my special concern is for young people let down by
dysfunctional families and others responsible for giving them a good start.
The UCKG HelpCentre is a unique charity with over 20 walk-in centres in London and the south east and a
total of 35 facilities throughout the UK. While we help people at every stage of life to make new beginnings,we are inviting you to support our work with the young by adding the UCKG HelpCentre to your present list for 2012.
This year’s Christmas appeal is for the refurbishment of our Peckham HelpCentre in a tough area of south
Our objective is to make room for a new youth centre with a recording studio where troubled youths can start to rebuild their self esteem through music and get their lives back on track. In addition we will be creating a new café, bookshop and a reception area in the HelpCentre, which will be open to all.
Preparatory works are under way, but we urgently need £300,000 to complete this ambitious project for the benefit of everyone in the local community.
If you can spare £5, £50 or even more, please send us your donation today (see back of this letter for details).
I promise you it will be well-spent. Alternatively, contact us on 020 7686 6000, or email firstname.lastname@example.org
if you require further information about this project.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and care for those in need.
